California FAIR Plan is the state's backup insurance program. It helps homeowners get fire insurance when traditional insurance companies will not cover them.
A lot of the homes damaged or destroyed in the L.A. fires use the California FAIR Plan for fire insurance. So, as people try to rebuild, the insurance program will be overwhelmed.
